Recently, Congen Pharma has been granted another invention patent (Patent No.: ZL 202211112258.1), focusing on "a highly stable hydroxy-pinacone retinoate (HPR) composition and its application." It provides an effective solution to the stability and retinoic acid challenges of commercially available HPR raw materials in cosmetic applications.
Hydroxy-pinacone retinoate, also known as HPR or Super Vitamin A, is a new generation of vitamin A derivative. It retains the efficacy group of retinoic acid and can directly bind to cellular retinoic acid receptors without conversion, promoting cell proliferation, biosynthesis of extracellular proteins and polysaccharides, and improving cellular metabolism, achieving anti-wrinkle, skin rejuvenation, and brightening effects. With its advantages of rapid onset, strong effect, and low irritation, it has quickly stood out in the skincare field, gaining attention and favor from brands and consumers.
However, since HPR is a product of the esterification reaction between retinoic acid and pinacol, retinoic acid residue in HPR raw materials is unavoidable, and the problem of exceeding the standard must be noted. To this end, Congen Pharma has developed the highly stable solution involved in this invention: by blending non-polar oil (squalane) and antioxidant (dimethylmethoxybenzopyranol) with HPR in a certain proportion, the resulting composition significantly enhances the stability of HPR, maintaining the stability of HPR content during storage and preventing the increase of retinoic acid content, effectively solving the problem of insufficient stability of HPR raw materials and their application in cosmetics on the market, which is conducive to better application of HPR in cosmetics.
